Our Team

I was born and raised in Iraq, in a small Christian town called Bartella, located north of Mosul. Growing up, my family and I faced many challenges due to the economic sanctions imposed on Iraq. We had limited resources, and as a result, I learned to be resourceful and creative. I crafted my own toys from wood, made my own cars from iron, and even turned our kitchen table into a ping-pong table.

When I turned 18, I moved to the United States and enrolled at Grossmont College. Initially, I studied engineering, but I soon realized that my true passion lay in accounting. I was always good at math and problem-solving, and I fell in love with financial accounting class. I decided to pursue a career in accounting and taxation and transferred to San Diego State University, where I graduated with a bachelor degree in accounting.

After graduation, I joined a startup company as a corporate accountant before moving to KPMG, where I worked as a tax consultant for five years. I worked with top clients, but I eventually realized that I wanted to do something more meaningful. I wanted to help individual taxpayers and small business owners in a more personal way. That’s when I met Katherine Feather, the owner of Allied Tax. She was welcoming and funny, and she talked about how they treat every single client like a family member. This was something that I had been missing in my corporate job, and I knew I wanted to be a part of a family where we could grow together.

I made the decision to leave my job at KPMG and join Allied Tax. I want to serve each and every client with all of my heart and skills. I want to be the next Katherine for Allied Tax and continue the legacy of this place for the next 30 years.
